How does it work?

Once we get you set up, we’ll send you a link to install the Backblaze client on your machine.  The client will then monitor your files and push changes up to the cloud when you are connected to the Internet.  The application runs in the background, and there is nothing more you need to do!

How much does it cost?

There are 3 pricing options that you can choose from:

  • Month: $7 per device.
  • Year: $70 per device ($14 savings)
  • 2-Year: $130 per device ($38 savings)

How do you make sure my data is secure and private?

With Backblaze, military grade data encryption is automatically built in.  Files that are backed up are encrypted on your computer with the Backblaze client.  They are then securely transmitted to a Backblaze data center where they are stored securely on disk.  Only your Backblaze email account and password can decrypt the file.

If you want an extra layer of security, you can also enter an optional Private Encryption Key.  If you choose this option, you will also need to specify this key whenever performing a restore.

If I already have a Backblaze account, can I still use your service?

Yes!  When you signup for our service, Backblaze will automatically issue you a credit back to your credit card for the remainder of your license.  Your backups will automatically move over to our solution with nothing more that you need to do.

Can you see all my files I’m backing up?

There are two different ways we can deploy your backup solution.  If you would like us to be able to assist you with recoveries, we can create the backup in a way that will allow us to perform certain tasks on your behalf.  If you want to manage the recovery of files on your own, then we will have no way to view any of your backed up data.

Can I use this for my business?

Absolutely!  For business users, we can place all your computers in a single group and grant you administrative access to be able to manage backups and restores for all of the devices within your organization.  All at no additional cost!
